I know that when you stretch your not supposed to lock your knees (arms etc) should you also try to avoid this while lifting weights, bc i see people doing it all the time, but I have a feeling that it's prolly incorrect and you could injure yourself easier that way or repeatedly doing it could hurt over the long run..? what do you guys know

Yeah, Def would recommend NOT locking the knees at all.
hltodd I seen some stretching videos on here you should take a look at.
